I’m Sophia Roth, the founder of ShowcaseU. 

When I applied to college, I knew my written application alone would not fully represent who I am, specifically my passion for the arts. I created several videos to showcase my different talents - I rented a rehearsal space, professional camera and lighting to capture my singing; edited a reel of my film projects; and even included an excerpt from voiceover work I had done for a Nick Jr. animated feature. I put time and effort into creating audiovisual projects hoping they would help set me apart from other applicants- and it worked! 

While at my dream school, Duke University (for which I submitted two artistic supplements), I focused on theater, film, and documentary studies and continued to improve my writing and editing skills. I also worked for Pitch Story Lab, a student-run creative agency where I wrote, produced, and edited promotional and commercial projects for Duke University and local businesses. Similar to my experience promoting businesses, I would love to help you “pitch” yourself to the colleges of your dreams!
